What is TCS?

TCS is a product that weathers upon exposure to atmospheric conditions. In most areas it attains a pleasing slate gray color. The core metal, however, remains unaffected due to the sacrificial characteristics of the terne coat.

 

 

 Terne-coated stainless steel, or TCS II, is type 304 stainless steel coated both sides with terne alloy (20% tin, 80% zinc). It is highly corrosion resistant which makes it an ideal roofing or coping material. Petersen Aluminum is a distributor of the following Follansbee TCS materials:
